Head (Using Main Color)

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3: Inc, sc repeat around (18)
Round 4: Inc, sc 2 repeat around (24)
Round 5: Inc, sc 3 repeat around (30)
Round 6: Inc, sc 4 repeat around (36)
Round 7: Inc, sc 5 repeat around (42)
Rounds 8–9: Sc in each stitch around (42)
Round 10: Inc, sc 6 repeat around (48)

Round 11:

  • Sc in next 28 sts

  • Mark the next sc with a different colored stitch marker (this is the eye placement)

  • Sc in next 8 sts

  • Mark the next sc with a different stitch marker (second eye)

  • Sc in last 10 sts (48 total)

Round 12:

  • Sc in next 18 sts

  • Inc, sc repeat 3 times

  • Sc in next 18 sts

  • Inc, sc repeat 3 times (54)

Rounds 13–16: Sc around (54)
Round 17:

  • Sc in next 18 sts

  • Dec, sc repeat 3 times

  • Sc in next 18 sts

  • Dec, sc repeat 3 times (48)

Round 18: Dec, sc 6 repeat around (42)
Round 19: Dec, sc 5 repeat around (36)

💡 Insert safety eyes now.
If making the black corgi, create the eye circles now (see instructions below) before attaching eyes.

Round 20: Dec, sc 4 repeat around (30)
Round 21: Dec, sc 3 repeat around (24)
Stuff the head firmly and evenly.
Round 22: Dec, sc 2 repeat around (18)
Round 23: Dec, sc repeat around (12)
Round 24: Dec in each stitch around (6)

Finish off. Add any final stuffing and sew the hole closed.

 

Ears (Make 2)

Use orange (for Rudy) or tan (for Black Corgi)

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3: Sc in each stitch (12)
Round 4: Inc, sc repeat around (18)
Rounds 5–7: Sc in each stitch (18)

Finish off. Set aside and pin to the head later.

 

Muzzle (White Yarn)

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: Sc around (12)
Round 4: Inc, sc repeat around (18)
Round 5: Sc in back loops only (18)
Rounds 6–7: Sc in both loops (18)

Finish off. Insert safety nose in the center, stuff lightly, and pin to the head.

 

Head Stripe (White Yarn)

Row 1: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, then sc in next 3 (4)
Rows 2–11: Turn, sc in all 4 stitches (4)

Finish off. Pin the stripe vertically on the head as shown in the reference image.

 

Eye Circles (Optional – Make 2)

Use tan yarn for Black Corgi

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: Inc, sc repeat around (18)
Round 4:

  • Sc in next 2

  • Dc, tr, dc in next 3 sts

  • Sc in next 2

  • Sl st in remaining stitches

Finish off. Insert safety eyes into the circles and attach to the head.

 

Tongue (Red Yarn)

Round 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4)
Tighten the ring and finish off.
Do not join the round. Refer to smile assembly below.

 

Smile Assembly (Black Embroidery Thread)

  1. Insert your needle below and centered between the eyes.

  2. Pull out diagonally to the left and reinsert into the center.

  3. Pull out diagonally to the right and return to the center.

  4. Gently pull the thread to form a smile.

  5. Pin the tongue in the center of the smile and sew it in place.

  6. Weave in all ends securely.

  7. Set the head aside.

  • Sc in next 6 sts

  • Dec three times

  • Sc in last 6 sts (15)
    Rounds 7–9: Sc around (15)

If making a black corgi, switch to tan for Rounds 8–9.

Finish off, lightly stuff, and pin to the body.

 

Butt (White Yarn)

  1. Cut a 24″ strand of white yarn.

  2. Insert it through the bottom of the body, leaving a few inches as the tail.

  3. Pull the yarn up through the center top of the butt, then back down through the bottom.

  4. Tighten both ends to create a “butt crease.”

  5. Repeat once more for stability.

  6. Tie the ends together and weave in securely.

 

Tail (Main Color)

  1. Cut a 24″ strand of yarn. Set aside.

  2. Wrap the same yarn around your first three fingers about 80 times.

  3. Carefully slide the loops off your fingers.

  4. Tie the 24″ yarn around the center of the loop bundle and secure with a knot.

  5. Trim the loop ends to create a fluffy pom tail.

  6. Use the yarn tails to sew the tail onto the body.
