This versatile crochet pattern is designed to help you create custom-size pillow covers, throws, or full-size blankets. You can easily adjust the width and length to suit your project, whether you are making a decorative pillow, an afghan, or a large bedspread.

Important Pattern Notes

Do not turn your work at the end of rows.

Fasten off at the end of each row, leaving a 3-inch tail for fringe.

All single crochet stitches are worked in the back loops only.

All double crochet stitches are worked in the front loop of the second row from the top.
Sizing Formula
You can make this project in any size using the following formula:

Chain 2 at the beginning

Chain in multiples of 20 for the main width

Chain 3, plus 1 extra chain at the end for the knot
The beginning slip knot should leave a long tail for fringe.
The final chain is for the ending knot.
Do not work into these knots.
Foundation Chain Sizes
Using dark red yarn:

Cast on using single crochet (no traditional foundation chain).

Row Instructions
Row 1:
Using dark red, cast on with sc. Work 1 sc in each stitch across. Ch 1, fasten off, leaving a 3″ tail.
Row 2:
Using dark red, cast on with sc in blp. Sc blp in each stitch across. Ch 1, fasten off.
Row 3:
Repeat Row 2 with dark red.
Row 4 (Bright Red):
Cast on with sc blp.
1 sc blp in next st, 1 dc flp of the second row from the top,
(1 sc blp in next 19 sts, 1 dc flp) repeat across.
End with 1 sc blp in last 2 sts. Ch 1, fasten off.
Row 5 (Light Gray):
Cast on with sc blp.
1 sc blp in next 2 sts, 1 dc flp,
(1 sc blp in next 17 sts, 1 dc flp, 1 sc blp in next st, 1 dc flp) repeat across.
End with 1 sc blp in last 2 sts. Ch 1, fasten off.
Row 6 (Light Gray):
Cast on with sc blp.
1 sc blp in next 3 sts, 1 dc flp,
(1 sc blp in next 15 sts, 1 dc flp, 1 sc blp in next 3 sts, 1 dc flp) repeat across.
End with 1 sc blp in last 3 sts. Ch 1, fasten off.
Row 7 (Light Gray):
Cast on with sc blp.
1 sc blp in next 4 sts, 1 dc flp,
(1 sc blp in next 13 sts, 1 dc flp, 1 sc blp in next 5 sts, 1 dc flp) repeat across.
End with 1 sc blp in last 4 sts. Ch 1, fasten off.
Row 8 (Black):
Cast on with sc blp.
1 sc blp in next 5 sts, 1 dc flp,
(1 sc blp in next 11 sts, 1 dc flp, 1 sc blp in next 7 sts, 1 dc flp) repeat across.
End with 1 sc blp in last 5 sts. Ch 1, fasten off.
Rows 9–11 (Raspberry):
Continue the pattern as written, increasing and shifting the sc and dc placement as shown to maintain the design. Fasten off at the end of each row, leaving a 3″ tail.
Row 12 (White):
Follow the established pattern sequence, adjusting stitch counts as written. Fasten off.
Rows 13–15 (Beige / Off-White):
Continue working the pattern rows exactly as written, maintaining the stitch placement and repeats.
Row 16 (Brown):
Work the pattern as established. Fasten off.
Rows 17–22:
Continue following the written stitch pattern, changing colors as listed.
Pattern Repeat
After completing Row 22, return to Row 5 of the written pattern and repeat all rows from there onward.
Continue repeating the sequence, adjusting yarn colors as needed, until your project reaches the desired length.
